Rurwin said: You should not need true real-time performance just to tune the timing and AFR, since that is just communicating with the ECU and setting parameters. In this case, unless you can get Linux/ARM code out of the suppliers, I think you are better off getting a Windows notebook. Writing that code is maybe two-three months of professional-level software engineering. If your unit talks XCP-USB and documents the ECU in A2L for example, you'd have to join ASAM before you could read the standards, that's only €100, but you probably couldn't make the code open-source, so you wont find it anywhere. The problem is that almost all the standard protocols are proprietary or members-only. I don't know what this piggyback ECU might be or what protocol it might talk. You would need something fast if you wanted to log crank-angle-related data. What all must be written before a Raspi could successfully communicate with foreign hardware? Thanks in advance everyone!

I am aware that a Raspi ARM11 is far different from x86 machines, so drivers will have to be written and applications must be made.

I already have a piggyback ecu for my car which does have a USB port for serial connection with a laptop, and software is already available for windows. In a nutshell, after i get my Raspi i'd like to (eventually) create a gui ecu tuner for engine air/fuel ratio's as well as timing adjustment for when i'm tinkering with my car, plus it would be stable mounted behind the dash instead of having a laptop flying around when driving. This may have been posted before, and i apologize if so. Will the blue be sufficient? Also will the emanage allow be to pass emissions or does it disable the obd2 port? I just realized they had 2 different versions of emanage. I trying to put together a basic turbo kit that I wont be boosting over 10 psi.

I was wondering what are the main differences between these two. › 〓 Greddy Emanage Blue Software Serial Library
